Monday Class - Intro to Fly Fishing

May 6, 13, and 20, 2024

6 PM- approximately 7:30 PM

This three session class will give you a solid introduction to the exciting world of fly fishing. Each week we will meet at Little Forks Outfitters at 6 PM for a short classroom session, and then head outside to work on our casting down by the tridge. Topics covered in class will include the physics of fly casting, a little de-mystification of the various rods, reels, lines and leaders used in fly fishing, some useful fishing knots, and basic tactics and strategies for various fishing scenarios. We start at the beginning with fly casting, and over the duration of the class help you build a basic assortment of casting skills, including loop control, roll casting, shooting line, and mending line. We intend to help you learn the right way, and want you to have fun doing it. All equipment needed for the class will be supplied by the shop, just make sure to dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
