Beginning Fly Tying – classes begin January 2023

Let our experienced instructors introduce you to the fun of fly tying. Each of the three 90 minute sessions will feature different fly patterns that you will tie yourself on the tools and materials provided. These flies have been chosen not only for their effectiveness in producing fish, but also to illustrate a series of techniques that will progressively build your skills as a tyer. Instruction is geared for beginning through intermediate tyers. All tools and materials are provided by the shop, but feel free to bring your own stuff if you prefer. Cost for the three week course is $95. Please register in the shop or by phone, as class size is limited to provide for lots of individual attention.

Introduction to Fly Fishing – classes begin Spring 2023

This four-part introductory course will get you started properly in the fascinating sport of fly angling. Extensive time will be spent on the principles of good fly casting, with knowledgable Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructors helping you dial in your casting technique. We will also teach you the knots you need to know, explain some of the intricacies of fly tackle selection (rods, reels, lines, and leaders), give you an overview of the food that trout feed on, and help you with proper fly selection. Time will be divided between the classroom and outdoors casting. Cost for the four part program is $95 per student. Please register in the shop or by phone, as classes are limited to provide for lots of individual attention.
